Decree of the Ministry of Culture of Argentina No. 123 of 2007, did some justice to the Giant of Corrientes and Bouchard. It states among other things, that the Luna Park occupies "a central place in the minds of the Argentines" and thus is a National Historic Landmark . It does not seem a minor thing. It would be impossible to enumerate all the chain of historical events unforgettable associated with that piece of universe. But since its founding and Ismael Jose Lectoure Pace became the boxing stadium, back in March 1932, also turned to boxing in a sort of custom Argentina, at least a good part of last century. And a huge amount powerful and timeless memories, a mixture of all that DNA consists of the Argentine, has its roots deep in the indoor apple, which mysteriously and manner of the ancient pyramids is aligned at an angle perfect two strong symbols of Buenos Aires and the country: the Rio de la Plata and the Obelisk.

LUNA PARK, brief history (Awards Konex) :
Luna Park's name appears first in Buenos Aires in 1912. Its founders were Ismael Pace and Joseph Lectoure. At that time was a fun fair, owned by the father of Ishmael, Dominic Pace, which stood in the street Rivera at 600, there happened to land located at 1066 Corrientes Avenue, where now stands the Obelisk and finally settled at the legendary Sun quote between Calle Corrientes Lavalle, Bouchard and Madero.

offered in its early stages theatrical performances outdoors, so you can see that its origin is not boxing but the entertainment and variety were the basis for this unique phenomenon. Among the many attractions that were offered, the first exhibition was held radiotelephone with galena appliances. This gave the idea of \u200b\u200bpassing by the system "El Combate Century ", the famous fight Firpo and Dempsey, the September 14, 1923.

In February 1932, with three stands cleared and homeless, with the inauguration of what would be his final resting place took out the Carnival dances inspired by "The Old Guard Orchestra." After leaving the sport - Boxing - making the last contest the October 17, 1987, between Rossi and Ramon Arce Abeldaño by category Welter, Tito Lectoure begins a new stage in the Luna Park, the cultural activity, as short bursts into the world of the arts as a producer of success greater than the activity recorded musical theater with "Dracula" and "The Hunchback of Paris." In the meantime presented the famous Bolshoi Ballet, Kirov, American Theatre, La Scala in Milan and many others.

the public also offered artists such Plisteskaia Maia, Luciano Pavarotti, Julio Bocca, Jose Carreras, Vladimir Vasiliev, among others.

The funeral of Carlos Gardel, Julio Sosa and Ringo Bonavena, gave a touch of popular feast that has no other mass rally site in our midst. The passage of the leading figures of the world show its corridors, from mid-century, always found an echo in the moon hot response that fails to occur elsewhere. Pope Jan Paul II, Luciano Pavarotti, Frank Sinatra, among many others, testified and contributed to the legendary print and halo of prestige that surrounds the giant.

For many years has been the focus of boxing where there were thousands of battles and more than twenty titles. Almost all great folk artists have come ashore in that room to feel intimate and human connection that is possible to establish infinitely inside this building full of mysticism, art and sports.

Mecca of boxing was Argentine and South American, who was dressed to party with performances by the greatest masters of ceremony: Gatica, Prada, Laussa, Reel, Selpa, Bonavena, Goyo Peralta, Saldana, La Cruz, Locche, Galindez, Palma or straight and that sometimes opened, "especially" to greet the prodigal son of boxing any national as a natural setting where people could access enshrining it in proper dimension.

For boxing greats from the decade of '40 to '80, you get to star in a Saturday night in this legendary performance, amounted to ecumenical dedication. Was the focus of training and preparation of countless stars. The house was Tito Lectoure, the most prestigious and prominent businessman, manager, promoter, organizer and doer of world champions who had the boxing Argentina. A legendary figure and unique, which alone is synonymous with driving impulse for the activity that used to be under his leadership, the second or third of the Argentine popular sport (behind only football and motorsport).

Juan Carlos "Tito" Lectoure, was the heir of the company founded by his uncle Joseph Pepe Lectoure (d. 1950) and was who had innovative ideas and a broad and decisive for the development of empire Luna Park Palacio de los Deportes. " The driver was early arrival of foreign securities (Archie Moore, Don Jordan, Yoshio Shirai, Eugenio Hurtado, Chuck Leslie, Eddie Jones and many others) to enhance the local fighters in their own environment. Cultivated a sincere friendship with their peers in Europe and the U.S. (It was an "almost partner" of Rodolfo Sabatini and Bob Arum). He had a fierce attachment to pre-competitive discipline and effort, and set standards of ethical commitment to end almost all the responsibilities imposed by the status of a professional boxer. Planning and the systematic order that the pupils had to undergo before Tito Lectoure international fights where there were opportunities for access to a world title, as are the paradigm for today's managers. The level of demand imposed during that period, direct explanation of the results obtained by our fighters.

Many boxers, as in the case of Hugo Mendoza Pasto r C orro , or Juan Domingo "Hammer" Roldán, were so empowered in their modest means who managed to reach and hold for a while, a really competitive superlative. So much so, Tito Lectoure that the Itaka Corro-fight rematch with Valdez (1978) had been defeated, at Luna Park, the Marvelous Marvin Hagler the fight with Norberto Rufino Cabrera (1979).

l E Moon was a popular temple. One of those points of anatomy through which measured the pulse of the country. ( Bejuk and Mariano Eduardo Del Aguila, Olé )

L actors are terrible witnesses you (thanks Dalmiro Sáenz). When I first showed up at the moon as preliminary, the emotion was much higher than when I went to the same ring to defend the WBA super bantamweight belt. At that moment, everything was experienced as something natural (pride of the protagonists). To me it makes me tell you that Luna Park closed (with permission from Borges). ( Sergio Victor Palma, Olé )

l E Luna Park is pure history and the dream of every fighter, much more from the disappearance of those festivals every Saturday one could follow the radio or television when there was a world title at stake. ( Pablo Chacón, Olé )

l E Moon is one of the most important stages in the world, at the height of Madison. ( albi Raul B, O lé )
